The Project Governance Dashboard: a complete governance pack for one project in two finished workbooks (light and dark), plus a Python script that builds a companion multi-project governance dashboard.

What's in the download (one .zip): two macro-enabled .xlsm workbooks (light and dark theme), build_governance_dashboard.py, requirements.txt and a README with step-by-step instructions.
The workbooks: 11 sheets: Dashboard, Highlight Report, Checkpoint Report, Risk Log, Issues Log, Stakeholders, Benefits, Business Case, Project Brief, PID and Pivot. The Dashboard shows the overall RAG status, live risks, open issues, benefits realised, spend vs. plan and schedule progress, then the highlight report for the reporting period you pick, the project at a glance, a risk heat map, issues by priority and type, a power / interest matrix, a stakeholder map, benefits realisation, checkpoint progress by work package and the business case appraisal (NPV, ROI and payback). The Risk category and Issue type selectors filter their own cards, and buttons along the top open each document sheet. The logs are ordinary Excel tables: add rows, then click Refresh. A sample project (Horizon Customer Portal) is filled in, with figures in £; the currency symbol is one cell.
The Python script: build_governance_dashboard.py (about 2,150 lines) drives Excel through COM automation and, in about 15 seconds, builds a different, multi-project governance dashboard: Risk Register, Change Control, Lessons Learnt and Post Project Review sections with shared Project, Project manager and Project status filters, 10 sample projects and a Data Entry sheet with four forms. It does not rebuild the two workbooks above; use it as a portfolio-level companion or as a starting point for your own. Change the THEMES palette, the lists, the forms or the sample data, then run one command, for example python build_governance_dashboard.py "My Governance.xlsm" preview.png dark.
About the macros: the Refresh button refreshes the pivots and recalculates the workbook, and a small routine recolours the RAG badges when you pick another reporting period. They run only inside the workbook. Click Enable Content when Excel asks; if Excel shows a red Security Risk bar, close the file, right-click it, choose Properties, tick Unblock and reopen. Prefer no macros? Use Data > Refresh All instead of the Refresh button; only the automatic RAG badge colours need macros.
Requirements: the workbooks open in desktop Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 or Excel 2016 and later, Windows or Mac). The Refresh button needs desktop Excel, as macros don't run in Excel for the web. The script needs Windows with desktop Excel, Python 3.8 or later and pywin32 (pip install pywin32), and Excel's "Trust access to the VBA project object model" setting turned on while you build. It doesn't run on macOS, Linux or Excel for the web. Instant digital download, nothing is shipped.
Licences: 1 ➜ Personal Use for one person, for your own business or hobby. 2 ➜ Commercial Use for a business or organisation of any size, including client work by consultants and agencies. Every licence covers the workbooks, the script and the workbooks you build with it. You may change the script for your own use, but not resell or share it.
