Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sky Dashboards ("Sky Dashboards", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit our store, buy a template or gift card, sign up for our emails, or work with us on a custom dashboard. Sky Dashboards is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and is responsible for your personal information under this policy. If this policy and our Terms of Service conflict on how we handle personal information, this policy applies.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Order details: your name, email address, billing address and phone number (if you give one), the products and licences you buy, any discount code you use, and your order history.
  • Gift card details: if you send a gift card, the recipient's name and email address and your message.
  • Messages: what you send us by email, through our contact form (name, email, phone if given, and your message) or on Instagram.
  • Custom project files: data and workbooks you send us for a custom dashboard. These may include information about your customers or staff, so please share only what we need and what you are allowed to share.
  • Account and email preferences: your sign-in email if you use a customer account, and whether you have subscribed to our emails.

We do not ship anything, so we do not need a delivery address.

Payment information

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number goes directly to Stripe and is never seen or stored by us. We receive limited details, such as the card type, the last four digits and whether the payment succeeded.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the store, Shopify and our service providers automatically collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location, the pages you view, items you add to your cart and how you arrived at the store. This is done with cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies).

Information from others

We may receive information from Shopify and Stripe, such as fraud-risk signals, and from Instagram if you message us or interact with our posts.

How we use your information

  • To deliver your order: to take payment, send your downloads, gift cards and receipts, and keep a record of the licence you hold.
  • To support you: to answer questions, fix download problems and handle refunds.
  • To deliver custom projects: to prepare quotes and build your dashboard.
  • To send marketing emails, only if you subscribe: new templates, offers and reminders about items left in your cart. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To run and improve the store: to understand which pages and products are useful, and to fix problems.
  • To keep the store secure: to prevent fraud and misuse.
  • To meet legal obligations: to keep tax and accounting records and respond to lawful requests.

We need your email address and payment details to complete a purchase; without them we cannot deliver your order. Everything else, such as your phone number and your email subscription, is optional.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only where needed with:

  • Shopify, which hosts our store, checkout, customer accounts and emails;
  • Stripe, which processes card payments;
  • Google, which hosts our download files on Google Drive. When you open a download link, Google receives information such as your IP address and browser details, and your Google account if you are signed in. Google's own privacy policy applies to that information;
  • Business and marketing partners, to show you advertising. For example, we use Shopify to support personalised advertising with third-party services based on your online activity with different merchants and websites. These partners use your information under their own privacy notices. Depending on where you live, you can ask us not to share your information for targeted advertising here;
  • Professional advisers and authorities, such as our accountant, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the store;
  • A new owner of Sky Dashboards, if the business is sold or transferred.

Our relationship with Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the store in order to provide and improve it. Information you submit is shared with Shopify and with third parties that may be located in other countries. To help protect, grow and improve our business, we use certain Shopify enhanced features that combine information from your interactions with our store, with other merchants and with Shopify. For these features, Shopify is responsible for processing your personal information, including responding to requests to exercise your rights. Cookies

We use Shopify's cookies to run the store, for example to remember your cart and complete checkout. Where you allow it, we also use analytics and marketing cookies. You can change your choice through our cookie banner where it is shown, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the store may not work without essential cookies. If you visit with the Global Privacy Control signal turned on, depending on where you live, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for that browser. Other than Global Privacy Control, we do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

International transfers

Our service providers store and process information outside Malaysia and outside the country where you live, including in the United States, Canada and Europe. We use providers that protect personal information with appropriate safeguards, such as contractual commitments.

How long we keep it

  • Orders, payments and licences: 7 years from the order, to meet tax and accounting rules and so we can confirm your licence.
  • Emails and support messages: up to 2 years after our last contact.
  • Custom project data: deleted within 90 days after the project ends, unless you ask us to keep it for future updates.
  • Email subscription: until you unsubscribe.

We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.

Security

Checkout and payments run on Shopify and Stripe, which meet the PCI DSS security standard for card data. We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit access to what is needed. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information to us through unsecure channels. If a data breach puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete your information (we may need to keep order records for legal reasons);
  • send your information to you or another organisation in a portable format;
  • stop or limit how we use it, including withdrawing consent you have given;
  • stop sending you marketing emails;
  • stop the sale or sharing of your information for targeted advertising, which you can also do here.

To make a request, email info@skydashboards.com. We will reply within 21 days, or sooner if the law requires. We may need to confirm your identity first. You can ask someone to make a request for you, and we will ask them for proof that you have authorised them. We do not charge for requests and will not treat you differently for using your rights.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Commissioner, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission.

Children

Our store is meant for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Other websites

Our store links to other websites and platforms, such as Instagram and Google Drive. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or the law. We will post the updated policy here, change the date at the top, and give notice where the law requires.
