Terms of service

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you visit this store or buy from Sky Dashboards ("Sky Dashboards", "we", "us", "our"). Sky Dashboards is a trading name operated from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. By using the store or placing an order, you agree to these Terms together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the store.

2. Using the store

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order, or have the permission of a parent or guardian. The information you give us must be accurate and up to date. If you create a customer account, keep your sign-in details safe: you are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Our products

We sell downloadable Microsoft Excel dashboard templates (.xlsx files, and macro-enabled .xlsm files), gift cards and custom dashboard design work. Each product page lists what is included, the versions of Excel it works in and what each licence allows. Screenshots show the template filled with sample data, and colours may look slightly different on your screen. Microsoft Excel is not included and must be bought separately. Microsoft and Excel are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation; Sky Dashboards is not affiliated with Microsoft.

4. Prices, orders and payment

  • Prices are in US dollars. Any tax that applies is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Card payments are processed securely by Stripe through Shopify's checkout. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Your order is accepted when we confirm it by email. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if we suspect fraud or a price was clearly shown in error. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we refund you in full.
  • We may change prices and products at any time. Changes do not affect orders we have already accepted.
  • Discount codes are subject to the conditions shown with them, such as an expiry date or one use per customer. They have no cash value and cannot be applied to past orders.

5. Delivery

Templates are delivered digitally as soon as your payment is confirmed. Nothing is shipped. See our Shipping Policy for how delivery works and what to do if your download does not arrive.

6. Your licence

Templates are licensed to you, not sold. When you pay for a template, Sky Dashboards grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual licence to use it under the licence you chose at checkout. Sky Dashboards keeps ownership of every template, including its design, layout, formulas and macros.

Every licence lets you

  • use the template for as long as you like;
  • enter your own data, and edit, restyle and extend the workbook for your own use;
  • keep copies on devices and storage you control, including backups;
  • share reports, PDFs, screenshots and printouts produced with the template.

Licence options

  • 1 âžś Personal Use: one person, for their own business or hobby. Client work is not included.
  • 2 âžś Commercial Use: one business or organisation, for any number of its people, including work for paying clients, for example as a consultant or agency. You may give each client a copy containing that client's own data, for that client's internal use only.

"One business" or "one organisation" means a single company or other legal entity, including its employees and the contractors working for it. It does not include parent, subsidiary or other related companies.

No licence lets you

  • resell, sublicense, share, give away or publish the template, whether blank, with sample data or modified, on its own or as part of another template, product or course;
  • upload the template to a marketplace, file-sharing site or public link;
  • give a client a blank or reusable copy of the template;
  • remove or change any Sky Dashboards credit or notice in the workbook;
  • use the template to create a competing template or product.

If you bought Personal Use and later need client work or more people, contact us and we will help you move to Commercial Use. If you break these licence terms, your licence ends automatically and you must delete your copies.

7. Macros and your data

Some templates are macro-enabled (.xlsm). Their macros only work inside the workbook, as described on the product page. Excel will ask whether to enable them, and the choice is yours. Your data stays in your copy of the workbook on your own device or storage, and Sky Dashboards has no access to it. Please keep backups of your workbooks and data.

8. Not professional advice

Our templates are tools for organising and presenting your own figures. Sample data is fictional and is there for illustration only. The templates, and any totals, forecasts or KPIs they produce, are not financial, tax, accounting, legal or investment advice. You are responsible for the data you enter, for checking the results, and for the decisions you make with them.

9. Custom dashboard work

  • Before work starts, we agree the scope, price, timeline and payment terms in a written quote. If the quote differs from these Terms, the quote applies to that project.
  • You confirm that you are allowed to share any data you send us. We use it only to deliver your project, keep it confidential, and delete it afterwards as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Once you have paid in full, you may use, copy and modify the finished workbook for any purpose within your organisation. We keep the right to reuse our general techniques, code and design elements, but we never reuse or share your data.
  • We will only show your project in our portfolio or on social media with your permission, and with your data removed or replaced.

10. Gift cards

Sky Dashboards gift cards are issued in US dollars, never expire and can be used towards any product in the store. They cannot be reloaded, resold or exchanged for cash, except where the law requires. Keep your code safe and treat it like cash. If you think your code has been lost or stolen, contact us before it is used and we will do what we can to help.

11. Our content

The store and its content, including text, images, videos, dashboard designs and templates, belong to Sky Dashboards or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Apart from the licence you get for templates you buy, you may not copy, reproduce or reuse any of it without our written permission. "Sky Dashboards" and our logo are our trademarks.

12. Feedback and reviews

If you send us feedback, ideas or reviews, you allow us to use them free of charge to improve and promote Sky Dashboards. We will only publish your name with your permission. Reviews must be honest and must not be unlawful, offensive or infringe anyone's rights.

13. Acceptable use

You may use the store for lawful purposes only. You must not:

  • break any law, or infringe anyone's rights, including ours;
  • harass, abuse or mislead us or anyone else, or pretend to be someone else;
  • use a payment method you are not authorised to use;
  • upload viruses or malicious code, or interfere with or get around the store's security;
  • scrape, copy or harvest content or data from the store with bots, scrapers or other automated tools.

Any software agent that acts for a person on the store must identify itself as an agent in its user agent string, must answer truthfully if asked whether it is automated, and must not get around measures that limit automated access, including CAPTCHAs.

14. Third-party services

We use third parties to run the store, including Shopify (store and checkout), Stripe (payments) and Google Drive (file hosting), and you need Microsoft Excel to use the templates. Their own terms also apply when you use their services. We are not responsible for third-party websites we link to.

15. Relationship with Shopify

Sky Dashboards is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make in our Store are made directly with Sky Dashboards. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and Sky Dashboards, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products and services. You hereby expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Sky Dashboards.

16. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your personal information. Because the store is hosted by Shopify, Shopify also processes information about your use of the store, as described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

17. Our responsibility to you

We provide our products with reasonable care and skill, and as described. Apart from that, and except where the law says otherwise, the store and our products are provided "as is". We do not promise that a template will meet every need or work with every setup, or that the store will always be available without interruption.

To the extent the law allows, Sky Dashboards is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profits, revenue, business or data. Our total liability for any claim about a product is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or your rights under consumer law, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

18. Indemnity

If you use the store for business purposes, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable costs that Sky Dashboards or Shopify suffer because of a claim by someone else that arises from your breach of these Terms, including the licence terms.

19. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access to the store if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms. Any part of these Terms that by its nature should continue, such as the licence restrictions, ownership, liability and governing law, continues to apply afterwards.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order. We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.

21. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Kuala Lumpur have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

22. General

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. These Terms, our policies and any written quote for custom work are the whole agreement between you and us. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to anyone who takes over the Sky Dashboards business, as long as your rights are not reduced.
